Losing Weight Three Days Now

Now I’ve lost 7 lbs – WHA HOOOOOOO!

Breakfast – 1 cup Kashi – 200 calories
Cheddar Cheese – 100 calories
Lunch – grilled chicken salad w/olives & corn – 140 calories
Yogurt – 100 calories
JC Cheese Curls – 130 calories
Dinner – JC Fajitas – 290 calories

Total calories – 960
Continuing to exercise daily for a mere 20 minutes. It’s better than not exercising, I guess.

Gonna Win a TV!

Lost 5 lbs

I got on the scale this morning and I’m down 5 pounds since Monday. This seems typical – loss of water and all. On day two I ate:

Breakfast – JC cereal – 200 calories
Cheddar Cheese – 100 calories
Lunch – JC Cheesy Enchiladas – 260 calories
Dinner – Grilled Chicken Breast – 130 calories
Grilled potatoes, onions & corn – 150 calories

Total calories for day 2 – 840 (not nearly enough)

Kate and I got together last night (the reason I actually cooked) and discussed our plan of attack. We thought we both would benefit from making weekly or at least daily menus ahead of time. I know that the less I have to think about food – the better off I am. So, that’s on my to-do list for today. We also agreed and Kate is far more optimistic that I – that there is hope for living a life without the obsession with food – whether it be from eating or dieting.

Day One – Faithfully Fit

As I said in an earlier post – I started the book Faithfully Fit today. It’s not set up as a diet or exercise program, but more of a spiritual and motivational guide. I read the intro and skimmed the first few pages. It reminds me of Overeaters Anonymous. Where the control is handed over to a “higher power” or, for me, God.

Any diet can be used. I’m going to make good food choices and keep my calories to 1200 per day. I’ll be using a variety of foods and also using the remaining Jenny Craig foods that are still in my freezer. I got weighed this morning and I now have a solid 30 pounds to lose. I know the first 7-10 pounds will be easy. After that – we’ll see.

I had planned to go food shopping last night to insure that all necessary foods were available. But, I ended up going to the Simpson’s Movie instead. I’ll be using left over Jenny Craig food until I get myself over to the store.

Emperor Anton has also committed to losing a few pounds and more important for him – exercising daily with me. And when I say daily – I mean five days a week. This week we’re just committed to going for 20 minutes a day. We don’t want to over do it and ultimately give up.

So… breakfast

1 JC French Toast with syrup – 250 calories.
1oz cheddar – 100 cal
JC Turkey Burger – 280 calories
Bruschetta Chips – 130 calories
Orange Roughy & Whole Grain Rice – 280 calories
Kids size Rita’s Italian Ice – 160 calories

Total Calories – 1200

20 minutes – cardio & weights

The “Just as I am Challenge”

I was just tagged by Krissy Poopyhands, who was inspired by the fabulous Flabuless. I think this is an excellent mission; but this is going to be difficult. Here are the requirements as written by Flabuless:

So I challenge other bloggers out there to take part in the same life changing exercise…Instead of concentrating on the negative points of why you want to loose weight and what you hate about yourself…how about writing 5 points about who you are and why you are ok just like that, they can be quirky, embarrassing, brutally honest, boring it doesn’t matter…You are perfect, you are unique and you should accept yourself with all your quirks–’Just as you are’…Make sure you write it honestly and positively as I have done above. It will be a list that you might need to revisit every day for the next year to remind yourself, that you are ok, and your life is going to turn out ok…but more importantly it will be an affirmation to yourself and the first step in appreciating YOU just as you are.

Here’s how it works…Take up the challenge yourself then choose 5 people to tag…list those chosen ones on your blog under your entry and then visit their blog and write them a comment letting them know they have been ‘tagged’ to take part in the challenge…keep track of who participates and record their links on your blog as they post their entries.Eventually we will be able to follow a trail from everyone’s blog linking to other blogs and their tagged blogs etc…it could be huge… Tell your blogging mates…and lets start a craze and grow and learn to love ourselves through doing this.Plus, inspired by 2kbloggers, my dream is to set up a photo montage, of ALL who participate, with links back to their individual blog posts…Now I am getting goose bumps…IMAGINE a photo montage of 2,000 ‘Fatbloggers’ accepting themselves…Just as they are! Ok, Ok so I am thinking Big!!!! I always do…but if you think this is a neat idea then get onboard and lets start making an impact sort of like the ‘pay it forward’ phenomenon. And if you would like to be on the montage…start sending me your photo’s with links to your challenge post…so that I can set it up.

So here it goes – 5 positive things about me:

1. I am funny. I think my humor would be considered “dry”. I love to laugh and I love to make people laugh. And I do.
2. I have great ankles. It’s one part of my body that I’ve always loved. Great ankles – flow nicely into my feet (which aren’t bad either).
3. I am ambitious, driven and an eternal optimist. I do love that about myself. If something needs to get done – I will get it done. I can keep my spirit up in the worst of times and I can pass that on to others in need.
4. I have great hair. It’s thick, bouncy and it’s always been a great color (it gets a little help now!)
5. I am artistically talented. I do love that about myself. I can and do create. I can take something empty and void and make it vibrate.

That was difficult.

Blog Review, but not just diet blogs

I had hoped to do this more often, but life tends to get in the way of my plans. Back on July 5th I listed reviews of my favorite diet blogs and new diet blogs that I just came upon. I want to do this because it forces me to get out there and find relevant blogs where I can find inspiration, support and more. I also find it difficult to be “part of a community” – as I’m quite shy. But, I remind myself that I am a grownup and I need to get over this stuff.

This time I’d like to review blogs – not just blogs dedicated to dieting. Let me start:

Old favorite blogs -

1. Total Transformation Test – this would have been on the new blog list, but he brought his blog to my attention on my first review… so, he’s been moved over to being a not-so-old favorite. This really is a wonderful and inspirational blog. As I’m going to be starting Faithfully Fit in one week – which is a spiritually based program – I believe I will be able to find even more motivation through Total Transformation Test.

2. Speck Blog – this is actually not a diet blog, but it’s a favorite. Very funny and intelligent writing.

3. Thoughts and Philosophies – it is just as it says. Excellent advice and more.

New favorites:

1. Finding Flabuless – This is another blog that I’ve been aware of for some time, but never really checked it out. I’m so glad I did – it’s great and hysterical.

2. Women 4 Hope – great blog for women and everyone else.

I’m pressed for time again – so that’s it for this blog review.

Faithfully Fit – New Weight Loss Program

One of my very best friends, who I’ve know since my college years were talking recently about how fat we have become. She claims to be heavier than she’s ever been before. She describes the feeling as “humbling”. I hadn’t ever thought of it like that – but, it makes sense to me. I usually go right to self-loathing – which is just so productive.
Anyway, I picked up a book that caught my eye a couple of years ago and promptly forgot about it. But, when I was packing for our Puerto Rico honeymoon – I came across the book again and threw it in my bag. I started browsing it and decided that I’d ask my friend to join me in doing Faithfully Fit. We could meet each week and discuss the book and what we struggled with. Of course we’d need to weigh in each week.
