Big Butt Babe - Acrylic Painting

The “Big Butt Babe” painting came from an attempt to begin to paint again. This was painted in 2004 at a small art studioBig Butt Babe in the Pottsgrove, PA area - Anvil Studio. I signed up for a class to inspire me to paint again. This was only an underpainting and I was unable to complete the painting. This is the most recent painting I’ve completed, with the exception of the painting of the couch that is still sitting at the framers workshop - waiting for me to finish painting the matte.

  1. this is awesome..love the colors

  2. I like it. I think there is defiantly a trend in culture that is accepting (and many times attracted) to larger individuals. We did have the rubenesque period, did we not?

  3. looking artist with this picture

  4. Great colors!

  5. Big is beautiful, as long as it doesn’t put you in danger.

  10. Very nice. This is the type of media that I need to start using sometime. I don’t have a lot of experience with acrylic.

  23. It`s all part of life, if you never try you never know if you can succeed.

  24. Of course, what a great site and informative posts, I will add backlink - bookmark this site? Regards, Reader.

  25. Though just an underpainting, it seems you have some talent, certainly. Many amateur artists struggle with confidence or conviction but you should certainly follow your interest and try not to put too much presure on yourself. Personally, i have never had art training and feel it would certainly help my paintings alot. Signing up for such courses seems a litle daunting though, and i also prefer just to stick to my natural un-tethered thoughts and styles.

  26. As an Artists myself I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your selection of colours for the piece you created.

  27. Great painting! I have been thinking about signing up for my own class to get my creative juices flowing! I was thinking though that a woman with curves, is a woman that is confident and sexy!

  28. Lizzie,
I hope you do something serious with your art. I can see scarves, wall art, etc. Your painting style is very “painterly” and reminds me of Batik. Thus, scarves with your motif would be lovely. I also like the subject of your art - you can go places with it girl!!

  29. Nette Site! Der Post ist gut geschrieben. Danke dafuer.

  30. Good colors; I would improve the composition with better proportions (golden section, etc)

  31. Nice painting. The subject matter is very contemporary. I surely see the makings of an artist =D

  32. Hi there, nice site with good info. I really like coming back here often. There’s only one thing that annoys me and that is the misfunctioning of comment posting. I usually get to 500 error page, and have to do the post twice.

  33. I like the painting - brings out the talent ….. a job well done!

  34. Hi just thought i would tell you something.. This is twice now i’ve landed on your blog in the last 3 days looking for completely unrelated things. Spooky or what?
