Is it Possible to Make Money Online?
Apr 27th
This is a little off subject, but in order to make money online, which is a goal of mine and many other bloggers – I wanted to write a post about a possible about just that. I’ve spent the bulk of my career in web development, which rapidly evolved to search engine marketing. Once I started doing that – I was totally sucked in, like most people who get into SEO/M.
One resource that I’ve used over the years in Linkworth. Recently the trend in effective SEO has moved from on page optimization to off page optimization which is link building. There are boundless web directories available to submit web sites, but I believe they are becoming like link farms, offering no quality and the can potentially hurt your search engine rankings.
Anyway, that’s where resources such as Linkworth have become very valuable. They offer opportunities to find good, relevant web sites to supply links to your web sites. This is what is now known as text link advertising. You can find quality web sites to build authority in your web site.
Another Weekend Away
Apr 20th
This weekend we’re going into Philadelphia for the Real Estate & Wealth Expo. I got the tickets for this event at a substantial discount when making a pledge to the local PBS station. Part of my work is to review hotels and restaurants – and this, we thought was a good time to do more reviews.
Even though the show is just Saturday and Sunday – we decided to go down Friday night and get the opportunity to stay at two different hotels. Tonight we’ll be staying at The Club Quarters at 17th & Chestnut Sts. in Philly. Saturday night we’ll be at the Sofitel, which is at 17th & Sansom Sts. I didn’t know the hotels were across the street from each other when I made the reservations, but that works out well.
I did some research before making these hotel reservations… the Sofitel had amazing reviews. All of them were excellent at this 4 star Philadelphia hotel except for one. But, The Club Quarters was a bit different. Half of the reviews were excellent, with #5 ratings (the highest rating you can give a hotel on TripAdvisor) and the other half were #1. There weren’t any in between. Needless to say – I’ve very curious to see what kind of experience we’ll have. The Emperor would probably assume that I won’t like. He believes that I’m very difficult to please – at least when it comes to hotels. I try to never stay in a hotel that’s below 3 and a half stars. I grew up going to 1 – 3 star hotels; spent my college and earlier adult years going to those chain, road hotels – but, I’m too old for them now.
We’ll also be reviewing at least one restaurant – which will take me away from Jenny. But, I’m determined to eat well and make good choices.
More reviews to come.
Gotta Get Goals Cont…
Apr 10th
Ok, so apparently I’ve been tagged. This is all new to me, but Emperor Anton tagged me in some sort of goal-setting project started by some other blogger, who tagged him. Goals are always good – so, I’m on board with this. And one of his goals is to marry me! so, I will definitely accommodate.
Personal Goals:
- lose weight! ha… at least the 15lbs I originally set out to lose.
- exercise 4 times a week, or buy an elliptical machine for the office
- Get my son on track
- Marry the Emperor… since his goal is to marry me – it’s the least I can do to help him with his goal!
- Travel to one exotic place where we’ve never been
Business/Financial
- Stop spending and start saving
- Sign on two large clients each quarter
- Delegate more, do less
- Double my income
Tagging
I now need to tag a minimum of five people. So here it goes… KrissyPoopyhands, Blessed1. jafabrit, LadyRose, and dutchkids
I think that’s it.
Adgloco…
Apr 6th
Well, in general I’m against this kind of stuff, but the Emperor recommended it and I have to say that I’m curious about this one….
It’s called Adgloco – which stands for A Global Community. It doesn’t cost anything to join and I suppose there may be a potential to earn some money.
Here is what they say -
I’m DIVORCED!!
Feb 9th
Something I’ve been waiting 6 or 7 years to say! My lawyer just called me this morning to tell me that the judge signed the final papers on February 7th. It’s been a very, very, very long and rough road. I always thought my situation would have made a good Lifetime movie – but, even though my ex wasn’t violent, I saw me ending up dead in the end.
If I had more time and energy – something I’m seem to be lacking as of late, I’d tell the whole marriage-reconciliation-separation-divorce story. It involves drugs, prostitution, insurance fraud and even the Secret Service. Perhaps at a later date or post.
