About

FatLadySingz is about weight loss and diet programs. My goal is to lose 30 lbs in 6 months. I’m going to try a different diet program each month. I started on January 22 with Right Size Smoothies. This weight loss plan consists of 2 shakes per day. I do the shake for breakfast and lunch and then try and eat a well-balanced dinner. I think I’ll move on to Jenny Craig next month.

After the six months and 30 lbs are gone – I’ll review each of the diet programs. Of course, I’ll be reviewing them daily as I do them. My goal after completing the six months is to maintain the weight loss – something I’ve never been able to do. I can lose weight and God knows I can gain weight like no one else – but I have yet to actually maintain a healthy weight for any length of time.

    Hi!

I was reading your blog, and I really have to say, your thoughts are inspirational. I too am trying to lose weight, and I feel your frustrations and successes!

A company I recently stumbled upon, Simple Memory Art (www.SimpleMemoryArt.com), created a 50 Healthy Foods magnet set, which I recently purchased. It’s a really cool item actually — it’s a magnet set that lists the major food groups, has them color coded in rainbow-like colors, and tells you everything about the food — vitamins, calories, grams of fat, protein, etc. It’s REALLY helpful and it makes my fridge look happier too! I emailed the company to ask where they got the idea from, and apparently, her husband was the inspiration behind the set. He was dieting and trying weight watchers, and needed a little extra reference material when trying to pick up a snack or prepare a meal. So she was inspired to create the 50 Healthy Foods magnet set with him in mind.

Anyway, I think it’s really neat, and thought I would share! I do so much of my shopping and etc online now, and I really do reference many ideas (movies, restaurants, etc) by reviews from other people, so I try to let people know if I find something that I think they also may be interested in :)

    Have a great day!

    All the best,
    Marissa

Hi, Its so inspiration too to see that you have taken a proactive rolein getting your health back again. I totally agree that you should check each program out. But I am curous to ask why do you really want to do the program and then move onto another as it seems a real waste of time. I do not mean that you shouldn’t, what i mean is why not research each program against scientific research out on the four different diets and see what are the benefits of each diet in losing weight plus gaining optimum health from a wellness view.

Some diets are neck to neck in the results of weight loss but when you actually look deeper at the ingredients used they use saturated fats and this could increase your blood cholestrol and increase the crease of heart disease.

I too am trying to loose weight and have fallen 6 kgs in the last 12 days from 89.9kg to 83.6kg and my waist has gone from 104 to 95cm during that time. I plan to lose another 8kgs and at 75 I shall be pleased.

Why not have a look at my pictures taken on day one and day 5. I plan to place another set after day 20 at http://www.fullinfaw.com/Reset

    Lets keep in touch

My hat off to you. You will your blog a good way to keep you in check. I started mine a couple of years ago, then ignored :-) I began earnestly last September tracking my weight loss ups and downs. I try an post at least twice a week. i have been seeing a doctor that specializes in weight loss but basically he is big in counting calories and eating frequently, lots of protein, etc.
I have hit MANY plateaus. I started in September and I have lost about 45 lbs. I still have about 75 more to lose.

The doctor I am seeing aims for losing 1lbs a week so you are right on track with your goal of 30 lbs in 6 months!

    Hi,

I do agree that loss weight is easy, but to maintain it is very difficult. I loss up to 4 kg within 3 months by doing exercise with slimming products. Detox products is good with control on my diet everyday for the 3 months. After that, I eat decent for my breakfast and lunch but less for my dinner, yoga twice a week to control my weight, and I am looking better and better after doing it for few months. Hope this is useful for you.

I was wondering if you may be interested in some blog content about an interesting approach to dieting.

UK entrepreneur and author Ron G Holland has just published The Eureka! Enigma, about how to use neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to realize potential and goals in one’s professional and personal lives.

A portion of the book is dedicated to how this approach can be applied to dieting. The author is pretty disparaging of all prescriptive diets (aside from ‘sensible’ eating).

I’ve created a social media release on this, if you want to have a look:
    http://pitch.pe/17363

I have additional material relating to the dieting portion of this book, and further quotes from Ron on this subject, should you need them.

For your information, Ron is known as ‘the millionaire maker’ for the number of millionaires worldwide he has helped create through his published works and his business consultancy, most of which has been based on his NLP approach to life.

Wishing you well with your blog,

In my experience there are 3 important factors in achieving that ultimate six pack:
    1. Strength exercises using weights
    2. Aerobic exercise in short bursts of maximum effort such as sprints.
    3. Correct diet.
Why do you think professional 100m runners have the physique they do?

The hardest part is always going to be keeping the weight off. I needed to lose about 10lbs and lost it through making a lifestyle choice. Its about your state of mind. I’m pretty sure you’ll lose the weight, but do it gradually and healthily and it will stay off for good. I recommend you taking a look at Mike Geary’s book, The Truth About Abs. This may seem hard core, but it does offer some invaluable tips to every sort of person irrespective of age, gender or weight. The very best of luck :-)

Is there any muscle-building supplement that you’d recommend? I wanna try one but I don’t know which is best.

Hi, I think that you blog posting will be an inspiration to the millions of other weight gain sufferers who are struggling to maintain a healthy weight.

I’d like to wish you success in your weight loss endeavours as I believe that 30 lbs of weight loss is definately achievable in a six month time period.

Listen, I’ve read a few review articles on Mike Geary’s Truth About Abs program and I have to say that you could do a lot worse than take his advice.

He is both informative and interesting. His program takes into account exercise and nutrition and it actually states upfront that in order to succeed with the Truth About Abs program you have to work at exercise and nutrition simultaneously.

Take a look at the Review Truth About Abs site and you’ll see a similar styled information packed review there, which you might find interesting.

Hi, its great to read some info my a fellow nutrition and fitness enthusiast. I personally am not a fan of whey protein, I know that on paper it is very efficient. But i have always wondered of the dairy aspect. A protein straight from milk, something great for weight loss and weight gain depending on usage but in terms of some folks you may find yourself to have a low metabolic tolerance to dairy (some people find the same with wheat). I prefer to diversify and try different proteins. This is all my personal opinion of course but i find all our body’s are different and you must do your own search to find the right form of powder for you. i personally shift between promasil and myofusion with some mutant mass if i feel like bulking or even as a recovery drink after a power cardio workout (such as plyo). Try to visit http://www.squidoo.com/best-whey-protein-shakes if anybody want more info.

It’s pretty awesome having nutrition as my life. I always tell people when they ask me what kind of supplements to take. Start with the basics and get some whey protein as a body building supplement then if you want, try an EFA stack for weight loss. As always throw in a multivitamin.

It is interesting that not many people make a six month time span in which they evaluate different weight loss products and give reviews about what worked the best and what did not. I hope that you were able to reach your healthy weight goal and you were able to maintain this healthy lifestyle.

Completely agree (as a personal trainer) that multivitamins are always a benefit to producing a more well rounded and healthly body image. Don’t ever under estimate the help keeping a food diary can do for you, making sure all your caloric intake is lower than expenditure for weight lose and higher for weight gain/muscle building.
