Losing weight, one diet at a time; one month at a time…

Weight Watchers – Down 16 Lbs

I’ve lost 16 lbs since last year at this time.

For me, Weight Watchers is the way to go. It’s not so restrictive that I feel trapped. It’s flexible enough for my lifestyle and allows me to eat the foods that I love and still lose weight. It’s all about portion control.

I have to give Weight Watchers a big thumbs up!

  1. I can say that Weight Watchers has helped me as well. I think that the most important thing about WW is the accountability.

How much are you trying to lose overall?

  2. congraculations…

  3. that is awesome! Ive been trying to loose some weight and its tough

  4. If your going to start taking supplements for weight loss first get a free sample of it to make sure it works for you everyones body is different and some supplements will work for some people and not work for others thats why you should order a free sample at this webpage called freesupplementfinder just google it before buying a over priced bottle i found a business that gives away free trial samples of any supplement all you have to do is pay for shipping from $0.99-$6.95 and you will get a free trial sample of the product.

  5. I too am a weight watchers “graduate”. In 2002 I lost 60 pounds thru the program. No doubt the support helped me.

  6. Me and my mom go to weight watchers and love we are off to a great start.

  7. I used Weight Watchers some years back and I lost 30 pounds in 4-5 months. I have now gained 15 back, and I am contemplating going back, because it is the only method that ever worked for me.

  8. I tried weight wachers, but like any weight loss program, it likewise needs perseverance and dedication to achieve ones goals.

  9. loosing weight is really not that easy. May be they are working fine and its great that you have loose weight. I think besides a good diet plan, exercise and some massage plan is very important so that you can relax your body.

  10. Here’s to all the Weight Watchers graduates, Congratulations. I too am a grad from this awesome program. I was an athlete in college and I let my self go after school. I had to get it under control and Weight Watchers did. 34 pounds lighter. Keep it up everyone!

  11. Any weight loss is great, but 16 lbs in a year? I guess that is all relative. I lost about 2 lbs a month on WW and I was NOT happy. When you have 75 to lose, it’s just not fast enough for me. I think a common sense approach and exercise works.

  12. Congraduations. Weight management is never an easy task. I’m glad you found a method that works for you. Essentially what it is is portion management. Those crash diets never really ever work. As soon as you’re off it on goes your weight.

  13. Congratulations on your loss. I have used weight watchers as a man and it works well because you can still eat the things you like as long as it is in moderation. I also bought a bike which helped me add excercise to my diet regime and meant I could have more points if I craved something a little bit naughty!!

  14. Congrats with the 16 lbs that you’ve lost (and hopefully to never see again). The really good thing about WW and why it works is that their flexibility means that you don’t need to be as disciplined, which is the main problem that people have with diets.

  15. Really congrats that you lost 16 lbs. Really i am interested in losing weight.

  16. Congratulations on your success with weight watchers. I’m a personal trainer and it’s one of the few programs I recommend because they teach portion control and balance. It’s not about being perfect, which is what throws many people off track. A sensible diet with plenty of whole foods and moderation on everything else along with regular exercise is the end solution no matter how you cut it.

  17. Nice job, keep up the good work. My progress was good up to 10lbs then I hit a wall.

  18. Great job, I just joined WW and am really loving it so far, I have lost 6 pounds and plan to keep going for another 35.

  19. Congratulations! Hope you reach your goal soon. I hear Weight Watchers are really good. When I was trying to lose weight I also found that reading success stories helped a lot – there’s lots of magazines with these stories around.

    Cheers!

  20. Wow!! This is like miracle for you. Congratulations for your big achievement. you would look absolutely great. I am so glad i started weight watchers because I lost 3 lbs in 1 week.

  21. WW is a programe that helps your to learn portion control and balance in your plate, it teaches you to have a healthy life. Enjoy those 16 lbs that you lost!

  22. Good work! I think that it is just about finding the program that works for you because some people respond better to certain weight loss techniques. and it looks like you have deffinatley found the right one for you.

  23. CONGRATS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS! That’s a lot of weight to lose and it seems like Weight Watchers really helped you reach that goal. In my personal experience, my friends tell me that their weight management routines have been so bad that they’ve contemplated getting Chirurgie esthetique Montreal, or Cosmetic Surgery for all you non-Montrealers :P . Although Cosmetic Surgery isn’t such a bad idea, natural weight loss like what you’ve achieved gives you empowerment to MAINTAIN your current physical state. Congrats again!

  24. That’s a great start! You really nailed it when you said it’s about portion control. That way, you can still have the foods you want without feeling deprived, and therefore ultimately sabotaging your goals.

Out of curiosity, what is your end goal? Keep it up! :D

  25. I tried WW and didn’t do very well on it. Whether it was because of time management difficulties due to working 2 jobs and caring for a parent with alzheimers or simply not enough will-power on my part.

So I went and had a lapbanding done and lost 55Kgs. This band is now in place permanently (or as permanently as I want it to be) and my weight has now stabilised. I am a healthy, happy person again but do miss my Dad. He passed away in February 2005. I had the lap band inserted 6 months before that so I have now had it on for 5+ years with no problems.

  26. Weight Watchers is actually a great way to lose weight in a controlled and friendly environment. They make you very aware of what the caloric value is of the things you eat. I guess that is the reason for their success. Anyway well done to you !

  27. Congrats on the 16 lbs!
That’s a real achievement in a country where the average woman gains 2 pounds per year. Look at it that way…you just lost 8 years of persistent weight gain!
    Yay, you!

  28. Great job, I just joined WW and am really loving it so far, I have lost 6 pounds and plan to keep going for another 35.

  29. The WW program works, there’s no doubt about it. My GF has done remarkably well on it also.

    Congratulations!

    Ben

  30. I’m a big fan of Weight Watchers too. I really like the way they offer people the flexibility of eating as well as teaching portion control.

I’ve done several seminars for Weight Watchers groups around Perth, Western Australia and one reason why I think it works so well is the support system they have in place.

Just like having a personal trainer or weight-loss buddy, Weight Watchers provides the support to keep people ‘on track’ heading towards their goal. It makes such a big difference.

One way I think they could improve their system further is to encourage people to get involved in more exercise, particularly weight training.

  31. This is not perfect, and this is many people thrown off track. With all food and all other regular moderate exercise with adequate and reasonable diet is the ultimate solution, no matter how you cut it.

  32. Great job, weight watchers is fantastic to teach people portion sizes and healthy eating but you must also remember to try incorporating an exercise and fitness regime to complement your weight loss efforts and improve your overall health

  33. I know exactly what you mean. Diet that are restricting specific foods are bound to fail. I feel you should first gain an understand on what food are good for your body and for you metabolism and what food are bad for your body.

After you will realize the good and bad foods for you and why, it is easier to change your eating habits while eating great, tasty and healthy food.

The best thing is to lose your weight not by simply not eating cakes or cookies or ice creams or eating only vegetables. With this diets you will only see a short term success and you will eventually gain those pounds back.

The best thing to do is to change your nutrition and be sure to eat the right kind of foods and avoid the bad, fat absorbing foods and eating habits.

  34. I have had a lot of my clients start on weight watchers and they love it, really keeps them on track with their diets whichs helps them along side there fitness.

  35. A major factor in sustained weight loss (and good health in general) is to shape your environment so it helps you to achieve your desired goals. Being in a poor environment just makes it THAT much harder for you to achieve what you want. For example, ridding your fridge of junk food will help reduce your temptation to make an unhealthy food choice.

Simliarly, joining a program such as WW helps you create the proper environment by surrounding you with the proper people and knowledge to help you achieve your goals.

Examine your own bad habits and behaviours, and try to figure out a way to set up your environment so it minimizes the likehood of indulging those bad habits.

  36. I’ve lost about 20 pounds in about 3 weeks time, no diet, no supplements just pure stress. I didn’t want to lose weight this way, but thats the life. It can always surprise you unpleasantly. I can imagine what I can achieve if I was following this program and my stress, wow.

  37. Wow – does Weight watchers really work for you? – i tried it some time ago and it didn’t help me at all, i had a hard time figuring it all out, so thats probably why :)
But i got a personal trainer instead, and that helped me a lot!

  38. I couldn’t agree more. I lost the “baby weight” with Weight Watchers, too, 6 years ago. it gave me a good reality check about how many calories i was eating. Congratulations on your success.

  39. My girlfriend also tries weight watchers. She isn’t having as much success as you. She has a hard time sticking to her goal. But she says the same thing. The diet is not quite as restrictive. It allows you to eat some of the things you can enjoy. The points system works too. It tests your math skills too. I support her 100%. I hope you continue to meet your goals!

  40. When I was over 95kg 2 years ago I joined weight watchers and went to the weekly meetings. It was a lot different from what I expected and I soon managed to take control of my weight.

The points system is just their way of having a calorie controlled diet. But it works well.

  41. Congratulations on your weight loss, it has been nearly 5.5 months since you have posted this, and new achievements?
Recently i have been trying hard to lose some weight also, going so so actually.

  42. WOwww !! congratulations you can do it .. Hopefully, you will lost more weight !!!!

  43. Congrats, that is great. My mom has also been using weight watchers and has lost 25 pounds so far. I do wish weight watchers also tracked nutrition, in addition to counting calories. I think knowing if you are getting enough nutrients is just as important, especially for my mom and her health issues. But I did hear they are have a new tool that tracks nutritional supplements so thats a plus.

  44. I employed Weight Watchers some years back again and I lost 30 pounds in 3-5 months. I have now gained 10 again, and I am contemplating going back again, since it’s the only method that ever worked for me.

  45. Congrats! I know many people who have found success using Weight Watchers. It’s a great program that should be taken seriously.

  46. Good work! I think that it is just about finding the program that works for you because some people respond better to certain weight loss techniques. and it looks like you have deffinatley found the right one for you.

  47. That’s great you were able to lose weight with weight watchers. My mother has also been successful with this program. One of the things she liked most about it is how it is not so restrictive on what you eat but how much you eat using the points system.
