Losing weight, one diet at a time; one month at a time…
My First Weight Watchers Meeting – Tonight!
I’ve been doing the online version of weight watchers for over a year now and I really like it, but…. my friend keeps telling me, as I continue to lose the same 6 lbs over and over again, that perhaps I need to go to a “real” meeting. I think there might be something to that advice. A sense of accountability – is what I need (in addition to a little more exercise).
The meeting is in two hours. I’m also told that Thursday is the perfect day to attend weight watchers – far enough from the previous weekend to have the time to lose any weight that might have been gained over the weekend. We’ll see.

I think that to get the motivation it`s better to be among others with the same goals. It`s a bit like exercise. One thing to put a DVD on and try to follow the person taking the class, but that`s not the same as actually being there in the room with others.

I tried the online weight watchers for a while but it didn’t really work for me either. I hope you have success with the “real” meeting. How did it go? Did you find any like-minded people willing to help and support you?

Hey Weight Loss Boot Camp!
I’m undecided about the meeting. The people were a bit cold, but everyone else there seemed to have attended with friends or family and I was the only lonely soul. But I think the accountability is a big factor, at least for me.

I find that if you write down everything – and I mean everything- that you eat and drink, and add up the calories, (don’t go over 1500 per day) and try to avoid refined food and eat wholemeal bread, wholewheat pasta, potatoes and wholegrain rice, eggs, some butter as well as organic veg, fruit and salad, some cheese, nuts and seeds and some ‘treats’, and exercise aerobically for half an hour every other day you will lose weight. On the days you don’t do aerobic exercise, do some toning exercise instead.
Try to stay away from unnatural foods like false sweeteners and high-fructose corn syrup as well as refined white flour, rice and sugar (use honey instead!) which can make you hungrier. And if you eat over your 1500 calories, eat less the next day.
As you lose weight and tone up, you’ll feel so much better, and it will be easier to stay away from food that doesn’t fill you up or make you feel good! And you can still go to your weight watchers meeting if you need that camaraderie.

Congratulations on your meeting! I have been losing consistent weight for a year now and the most critical component was to have a support team. If you have someone you can talk with it will make all the difference! Keep up the great work!
