Nicholas Cage Should be Ashamed of Himself

I don’t usually get too far off topic like this, but I had to say something.

Last weekend, we all decided to go out to the movies. We didn’t know what was playing at what time, so we were taking a chance on what would be available to see. Now the boys wanted to see the new X-men movie. Fortunately for them, it was playing about every 10 minutes. So they got to see the movie they wanted to see. I was with my daughter, who is 13 and I don’t let her see R rated movies yet, so that limited our choices even more. I wanted to see “The Soloist” or “Taken”, but neither was playing at the right time. We were left with a choice of “Hannah Montana”, which was a definite NO; or “Knowing”. I thought it couldn’t be too bad because I’ve enjoyed many films starring Nicholas Cage. In fact, I loved him in “Leaving Las Vegas” - excellent movie, if you ever get the chance.

Knowing, has to be one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely ridiculous. There were religious signs and symbols throughout the movie. There were so other things that made no sense at all. My daughter and I kept asking each other during the movie if the other wanted to leave. Unfortunately we stuck it out. The ending was just bad. It’s like they couldn’t figure out how to end this horrific movie and picked something out of a hat.

It was just awful.

That is seriously good to know because I really did not know what to think of that movie. .It looked a little off to me.

This movie looked kinda interesting but after what you said I doubt I will even rent it when it comes out. I do like Nicholas Cage, national treasure was alright adventure film. My wife doesn’t like him though, she always says he looks depressed in every film. Anyway thanks for the review.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll skip that one too. For me personally nothing can beat the lousiness of The Happening with Mark Wahlberg. He really knows how to pick bad movies.

Nicholas Cage is one of those guys you either love or hate. I have to say that I usually avoid movies with Nicholas Cage. Something about the guy has set me off for a long time… I think Raising Arizona was the last movie of his that didn’t make my temples ache.

Thanks for the heads-up, though. I’ll make it a point not to watch Knowing… sounds like a stinker.

Ha! All my friends wanted to see this movie, but once I saw the preview for it, it was a definite NO! for me. Fortunately we went to see “Crank: High Voltage” instead. It was a great flick, it had everything that makes a great movie. Wouldn’t be appropriate for your daughter though, just thought I’d throw that out there.

When I watched the movie, I had similar feeling and wanted to leave the cinema, but stayed in hope there will be a good twist and end to the movie.

There was nothing original in the movie and it was mix up various other scifi movies.
