This is a bit “off-topic”, but my life feels as if it’s been off-topic for some time now. I want to talk about Bluetooth headsets and accessories today. You may know that we moved a few months back. We now live in a very secluded area on top of what I call a mountain, but to most of the world it would be a hill. Since we moved we’ve come to realize that we don’t have a cell phone signal up here. So we had to make some adjustments in our lives. These adjustments, which at first I saw as negative have become a blessing. We were forced to have our cell phone go through our Internet connection. Because of this we had to get new cell phones that were able to handle this. I got a Blackberry – I love my Blackberry.
This brings me to what I really want to talk about – Bluetooth headsets and accessories. I’ve always found it curious to watch people walking down the street or driving in their cars appearing to be talking out loud to themselves. Now I can do that too with one of the Bluetooth headsets that I just got. It’s amazing that I haven’t been an accident yet due to talking on my cell while driving. But with the headset – I don’t have to use my hands. My lack of cell phone signal has increased my knowledge of Bluetooth accessories. I heard the ads of phones that were “Bluetooth ready”. I had no idea what that meant.
I thought that Bluetooth was the name of the little device that seemed to grow out of the heads of a select group of people. But, Bluetooth is actually a technology that allows devices to connect without the nasty cables that have infested most of our lives. The Bluetooth headsets are the devices that a fixed to the ears of many people, but there are many more Bluetooth accessories. Some of the accessories include – stereo speakerphones and these cool adapters that let you wirelessly connect your PC with other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as headsets, mobile phones, cameras and printers. It’s very cool.

There are a lot of really cool bluetooth headsets, but what gets me is the people that always wear them even though they are not using it half the time.
Well that and when someone starts talking and you respond, thinking they are talking to you, only to find out they are carrying on the phone.

Well, its cool if you’re doing it. But you gotta be careful. That thing is kinda addictive.
I love gadgets but I don´t know how to deal with many of them. I have a notebook with bluetooth and my cell phone has bluetooth as well but I don´t know what to do next.
Thats all I use when I’m on the phone. Especially with new laws coming up, it would be a great idea to get a wireless bluetooth headset.

I haven’t bought one yet. I just have this feeling that I’ll be more attached to the phone. I’m trying to go in the other direction and get less connected.
I agree with Ling, it is kind of addictive. Some time people even use it to show off.

I’m actually slowly warming up to my bluetooth headset. But I hate having to clip it on my ear, I now finally understand why people choose to look like douches and walk around with the headset on…it’s just such a pain taking it on and off everytime you get out of the car.
Bluetooth is a great technology but what annoys me though is similar to what porch lifts has commented.
Some people wear them even though they are not using it and all the while you thought they are talking on their phone but instead they are talking to you or vice versa.

I think BlueTooth is one of the coolest inventions of all time. No need to buy different kinds of cables for your mobile phone in order to transfer files to your PC, no need to worry about cables when transferring pictures or videos from your digital camera.
BlueTooth has made it so easy for us. All devices use the same technology, no need to buy different cables or anything else, just get one BlueTooth device and all your devices will work like a charm.
I wouldn’t have been doing what I am doing today without this technology.
I’m using it to connect to my modem at this writing moment
BlueTooth is big step in tech era surely. It made life easier for all.
But yes, there are some researches about health issues, and i hope they wont be positive.

Goo post!! Bluetooth has really helped me out in terms of hands free driving. It hooks into my car’s audio system and allows me to talk freely while maintaining control of my vehicle. Its so easy to use and it truly is a wonderful technology to have.
That is extremely funny. I’ve had it the very same way as you. People allways scare me when talking apparently to themselves in the supermarket while bying milk and eggs. What is this world becoming. The technology makes it very smarter, but indeed lets us look very very stupid, when everyone is talking to themselves. But Bluetooth is a clever thing for sure.
Bluetooth is cool, though I never used it.

We have to thank the bluetooth technology for conveniently destroying the nasty cables and still to become popular is the wireless broadband internet through out the globe. Waiting for its dawn…:)

Hi! I admit that I was against bluetooth headset. I thought that it was unnecessary device. but, once I tried it and couln’t leave it.
Its one of the latest technology concerning mobile phones. I got bluetooth in my mobile and its pretty nice to share files with friends quickly!
Yeah i also find the same, first i thought its just a name of a small device but exactly it has more meaning and use as well.

Yes, It’s very cool. Bluetooth is a great one in the technology industry. Bluetooth has really helped me out in terms of hands free driving. Its so very easy to use.
In previous post I forgot to say that you must be careful when you use Bluetooth. Why? Because new smartphones are like computers and if someone want to send you virus you can lose all information on your phone. Or just someone can make free calls for him but for for you it would be very expensive. So be careful na turn off your bluetooth when you use it.
I put on my bluetooth headset everywhere i go. It is much more easier and handy, especially when i drive.

well bluetooth is good an not good good for sharing good files and not good to send virueses lol since like 2 weeks i got a virus from my bluetooth with out even known that so its not as good as it was in my mind
We just bought four of them last month. My wife is concerned about the cancer risk so now every member of the family uses them.
And I hate to say it…but this 50-year old looks kind of cool!
Bluetooth is a brilliant device. I use my headset when driving and it’s brilliant.
I don’t know about those headsets. It always looks like ppl are talking to themselves…haha
It’s almost impossible for the common person to sort through the hundreds of different headsets in a store and make heads or tails of them. Someone needs to write a definitive post about them!
Label: I suggest using the plantronics headsets - I’ve currently using their 665 headset and the reception is awesome!
lizzie: just remember, bluetooth keyboards and mice SUCK! They’re slow and prone to disconnection.
My jabra makes my life easier, sometimes technologies makes your life easier. I am still not sure about it’s use in computers. I have reported data theft to cellphones from an executives laptop. Thats an other side of coin.

Bluetooth is one of coolest technology on today’s world. It really do give efficiency. Like for me, i can transfer files and use gadgets using this blue called technology. I do believe that in the near future, it will be more improved and it will have a lot of use.
Bluetooth is not cool! Drains your battery fast, isn’t reliable or secure enough
I like bluetooth i think it can be really useful even if it does drain your battery.
