I have been more or less out of touch with the blogging community for some time now. I did start the Ultra Lite plan a few times, but life seriously got in the way of the very restrictive program. The time that I followed the plan for almost 2 full weeks - I did enjoy it and definitely felt the psychological and emotional benefits, if not the physical benefits as well. But, as I said before, life really did get in the way. Here’s a very high-level overview of my life during the past year:
1. After many, many years waiting - my divorce finally became final in February 07 (but not before my now dead-ex-husband decided to get remarried under a false identity)
2. My father was diagnosed with bladder cancer; had surgery to remove and rebuild a bladder; receives a clean bill of health
3. My ex-husband died of a heroin overdose (fingerprints had to be used to identify the body due to the assumed name)
4. I married the Emperor Pixelhead (my father performed the ceremony)
5. My youngest son (17) ends up in a “program” due to poor behavior
6. My father’s cancer returns and is extremely aggressive
7. We decided to buy a house where my parents can move in with us
8. My father dies
9. We purchase the house and move in immediately after my father’s funeral
10. My son moves back home in two days
The main reason I had not been able to follow the Ultra Lite plan was due to moving. For at least a week, I was basically without a kitchen and with EVERYTHING needed to be prepared - it became impossible.
I still feel like I’m trying to recover from all of the events of the past year. I hope to be back to active blogging and a healthful lifestyle soon.

After read your post, I have to said health is the most important property for us. We really need to take care our lifestyle and do more exercise.
Ouch =/ Sounds like lots of things changing. But yeah. A big change is a good time to make new resolution =D Good luck in trying to reduce your weight

Those are very tough things to happen all in one year. Try to put things in perspective. Why don’t you create a list of things you are grateful for that happened in the past year? I realize the impact of those events are of no small proportion, but you have to be kind to yourself and try to focus on the good things.
Loss weight is not a easy process, need a very strong mind in controlling on food and spend tons of time on exercise. All the Best!!!

Thanks for updating the post. getting a big change is very good but when we loose weight, it should be that we loose it gradually and not once at a time.

You had a tough year, it is time for you to reward yourself after all you have been through. Goodluck on your weight loss program.
Well, what can I day? Just put your head down, and keep moving. You gotta look on it as a test of your will. Have faith, and do what’s right. Things often start moving in the right direction in ways unexpected. I’m sure you’ll succeed in your weight loss attempts, if you keep trying.
With the stuff you had going on, losing weight was the last thing on your mind. Clearly, we can’t do many things we thought we will and that is not something to feel guilty about. It’s good to hear you still are trying to do your best, considering circumstances. And doing our best is all we can do.
I see that you have gone through some really bad events but nevertheless be strong and keep on living happily..
That is some year you’re facing huh. I do agree that no matter what life must go on. We can plan for the future but sometimes it wont go as we planned.
I can feel your pain. I’ve had family problems with my children and a job that keeps my mind occupied constantly. With all of that we still need to focus on US. You deserve good health and your situation will not be any better if you don’t look after yourself.
I’m reminded of a saying from Zig Ziglar when asked when does he have time to exercise. He replied with “I don’t have time not to exercise”. When we start taking care of ourselves then we are better able to help others.

How much you are suffering for controlling your self to stop doing some precious food.???
If you want to reduce weight quickly you have to check your diet. Otherwise you can go with your routine diet and exercise. The only change in diet you have to do is reduce the consumption of fat a little bit.
I can feel now how much pain your heart is suffering. Hope you’ll get fixed in Ultra Lite plan at least during the current month of June. Past is past. So forget those bitter days and concentrate to stick on to the weight loss program.

Reducing weight is not that easy you need a balance diet and self discipline.
It is very difficult to follow a diet plan with all these things going on. Hopefully you will start to have a better time of in the future. Good luck with the diet plan and the bloging!

Diet is certainly bad activity, as im doing now, i get to have diet to get back to the shape i was. I really don’t enjoy, yet i get to push myself far.
I want to gain my weight. I am so thin. PlS tell me what should i do to gain some weight.
I also experience the same situation; i got loss in my fitness program due to some unexpected circumstances that come. But thru the aid of some my concern friends, i got back into my regular fitness program. =)
I’m also trying to gain weight, or should I say muscle. Right now I’m about 190, trying to bulk up to about 220. If I weigh 220 with no fat, I imagine I’ll be looking pretty ripped

Recalling unfortunate events is inevitable, for we are feeling beings, but try to reflect on what good things have come about from these, what you have learned, and how your character has been made better.
sounds like its been a tough year so far… my g-pa just passed away today and my dad got in a car accident while telling my mom who is out of state. so i kinda feel your pain. just be strong and you’ll get thru it :/

Yes…You’re correct. Although it is easy to follow Ultralite, but it is really difficult to continue it continuously…

Wow - quite a year. I myself tried UltraLite and lasted only 2 weeks. Its much to restrictive for me. There is no way that plan could have been a life style change for me.
I did have luck attending a 2-week adult weight loss program. Let’s hope everything I learned there will stick.

Everyone’s got their own baggage, some are heavier than the others. But remember that it’s how you carry it sometimes, that determines how much strain you’ll feel. Set your baggage down, carry it would grace - you’ll get to the other side soon enough.
