Losing weight, one diet at a time; one month at a time…

Day 2, Again

It’s only Tuesday, and it feels like Friday.

I went to the gym again this morning and worked out for only about 25 minutes, but it’s better than not going to the gym. I also haven’t really been counting my calories, but I have a pretty good idea if what I’m eating is a good idea or not. I having the most difficulty with the water. I find that when I eat healthy foods - I’m not as thirsty. It’s really hard to drink, especially water, when I’m not thirsty.

For breakfast I had a bowl of Kashi and lunch was a tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread. I haven’t planned dinner yet, but I’m sure I will eat something.

That’s all.

  1. Keep up the good work! Try walking for 45 minutes a day. Stick to low-calorie foods and make sure you keep track on what you eat. It’s very important. Although walking for 25 minutes is not considerably a long time, but think of how you would have felt if you didn’t go at all. Keep encouraging yourself, you will begin to see results!

  2. It is tough to stay motivated. You just got find your Muse and stick with it.

  3. If you keep working hard and going to the gym, than feeling like friday will soon be a good thing. Stay motivated. Enjoy life. i wish you success.

  4. Losing weight is hard, but worth it in the long run. Just remember the great long term results you’ll get and keep on going!

  5. It is not good for your health. Try to adjust otherwise you will fall in sick. Take care.

  6. If you have a problem with motivation, get yourself a pedometer. I have it on my Sony Ericsson W710i, and it tells you how much you’ve walked today. The kind of satisfaction you get when you have crossed the previous record is amazing..it definitely keeps you going..

  7. Why not drag one of your girlfriends along to the gym? It really helps

  8. I agree with chris…the buddy system is the best

  9. Remember ” No pain No gain “. Good luck and stay focus

  10. I strongly reccomend in summer, watermalone diet. I ate water malone tons of kilos in last summer and i’m 20 kilo lighter now.

  11. I understand how drinking water is hard when you are eating healthier food. What I’ve done, instead, is just made water a part of my routine. I bring it EVERYWHERE I go, literally. In the car, always have a bottle in my purse, on my nightstand before bed etc etc. Now it’s become something that I almost can’t live without and I’m getting the recommended amount one needs per day and even more. Make water a part of your routine and you feel so much better! (and it makes you eat a little bit less!)

  12. You sound like me, I went to the gym hit the free weights for about 2o minutes and then I hit the road.

  13. I love the Kashi cereal. Actually one way that I get the water in is to drink a huge glass of water first thing in the morning and it does two things. It starts your metabolism and it starts the water flow of your body.

Good job working out first thing in the morning. I feel so much better when I get some exercise before doing anything else.

  14. Great post.

  15. Yes, 25 minutes is enough to be aerobic if you do it properly. Nothing to feel disappointed about, especially if you are eating right. Celebrate the victory!

  16. Hang in there, i found the best thing when i was trying to loose weight was to cut down or eliminate sugar, this includes carbs which turn into sugar anyway. So be careful what carbs you eat! I wrote about this on my site if you are interested, its the 2 part article about carbohydrates.

  17. Good luck with your program. It’s a real war losing weight

  18. Sounds like you’re having a good day.

Lately I’ve been trying new whole grains: Quinoa and Couscous, made with lots of roated garlic and mixed with a variety of veggies - very filling, lots of fiber and nutrition.

I haven’t gotten into exercise much lately - but order Nordic walking poles as a xmas gift to myself - you burn 40% more calories while walking - though I probably won’t do much walking till spring (it’s getting really cold here in NJ).

  19. I’ve been addicted to water for some time now. No matter how I eat, I always have a glass of water waiting…strange maybe. I don’t know when it started, but I know it never stopped. My problem is staying motivated to keep working out. I still have some pooch on my belly, but it’s a lot smaller than it used to be. Anyway, keep up the good work.

  20. Don’t give up. It’s not easy, but you can do it! My biggest weakness is sugar, so the best thing for me to do is not buy any sweets and things at all.

  21. Actually, that’s an excellt and healthly breakfast :)

  22. Nice site, thanks for the nice post, come visit mine sometime….

  23. I lost 25 lbs before going on a cruise recently. When I got off the ship, I had gained 9 lbs back! So depressing. Hope you have sustained good luck.

  24. I wish I’m like you when it comes to exercise. I’m so lazy to exercise. I need an inspiration and I think that would be you. I will read your blog everyday to keep me motivated. Good luck to me! hehehe

  25. How can you keep your spirits high when you’re not shedding the inches?

Understand this: When lack of progress gets you down, you stop thinking rationally – instead, you think emotionally. You will have an impaired ability to dissect your performance and to take an impartial look at the actions that are truly defeating you.

  26. I also try to take steps for reducing weight, but never find time for that. I have to consider it seriously. I have gained 7 kgs in the last 3 months. It’s just a case of getting started , once i start i will reduce weight easily.

  27. Keep up the good work! I think that writing about your experience and struggles will keep you honest about this and on track for longer.

Just getting yourself to the gym is the important part…it can be easy to talk yourself out of it. But, if you just go and tell yourself you can do as little or as much as you want..then you will stick to it longer.

    Good luck!

  28. I really like your site and I hope that you keep going with it. It seems like it’s been a while since you posted. Almost everyone needs information on losing weight so keep it going!

  29. Weight Loss in 5 Easy Steps
    Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to read this article. We know that your time is valuable, and aim to give you the most value possible for the time you invest in reading our article. We have put together a 5 step success plan for losing weight.

    Step 1: Goals
The first step to achieving the healthy body you deserve is setting goals. I’m not talking about vague goals like “I want to lose weight!” or “I want to look better in the mirror.” I am talking about specific goals, such as “I want to lose 5 kg in one month.” or “I want to lose 2 pants sizes in 2 months.” In setting goals, it is important to both make them a challenge and make them attainable. To lose 1 kg per month would not be much of a challenge & to lose 50 kg per month would not be attainable.

    Step 2: Breaking it Down
The second step to achieving the healthy body you deserve is breaking your goal into smaller pieces. If your goal is to lose 40 kg in one year try breaking it down into losing 3 to 4 kg per month. If this still seems too high, break it into just 1 kg per week.

    Step 3: Choose a Program
Now that you have clearly identified and broken down your goals, you are ready to choose a program. We have found Fat Loss 4 Idiots to be a real winner. It has been our # 1 seller, and we have received lot of positive feedback from our customers regarding the program. You can find it on our Weight Loss page.

    Step 4: Exercise
One ingredient that is often missed in weight loss programs is exercise. Though you can lose weight without exercise, physical activity greatly improves your chances of success. This can be as simple as walking every day, or as complex as you would like to make it. Check out our Fitness page for some suggestions on exercise routines that may work for you.

    Step 5: Success
With broken down goals, a winning program, and proper exercise, you are sure to succeed. Please post your success stories in our Guest Book at http://www.HotterThanHealth.com

  30. Try to make that 25 minutes a 1hour work out. Yes its hard to stay motivated, but try to improve constantly. Maybe 30 minutes and work your way up. Your calorie counting is so good, this is a big problem for people trying to loose weight they loose dedication and don’t count calories.

  31. Oh yes, i know how hard it is! Especially it is hard to drink enough water while you are busy with your job. Anyway I think it´s all a matter of structure and how you organize yourself.

  32. I have to say that I love this article. I have searched for many weeks to find an article about this topic. This blog has been so simple and has a lot more features than other blog articles. The layout and design is great. I will continue to come back here for every articles. Thanks…

    Eva Maryam

  33. Your calorie counting is so good, this is a big problem for people trying to loose weight they loose dedication and don’t count calories.

  34. I also had a hard time drinking a lot of water too. What helped me was to carry a huge cup (I got mine a 7eleven) of cold water with me throughout the day and sipped it often. Before I knew it, I had drank it all! I fill it up twice a day so I get my 64 ounces. This may help you.

  35. Keep up the good work. I couldn’t imagine being on a diet. Food that tastes like cardboard just doesn’t do it for me.

  36. Nice post. i just bought a stationary bike for my new years resolution — You’re definitely motivating me to use it. :)

  37. I’m hoping to loose a few extra pounds in the new year. It’s not easy, but I think the key is just sticking to it and keeping yourself motivated.

  38. Keep trying…

  39. I am working on getting weight off too! Decided to start in the new year and I will be blogging it! Good Luck!

  40. Don’t give up, little and often is the key.

  41. Working out on a regular basis is one of my New Year’s goals.

  42. Hi, I can see from your blog, losing weight is really more than just dieting but taking on a healthy lifestyle, if you would like some free weight loss tips, please visit my page, thanks

  43. “No pain No gain so accept pain and gain”.Dont give up…….

  44. Good luck to you all, changing your life style is not an easy thing to do.

  45. How are you doing these days?

  46. One of the easiest ways to lose weight is dramatically increase your fruits and veges, and try to really cut back on sugars and flours. The beauty of fruits is you can eat a ton of them and the calories remain very low, but the health benefit is immense.

  47. It is great to see someone blogging about weight loss workouts. Nice to read your blog.

  48. Stay motivated mate..It is still tuesday only..Try till Friday..

  49. I am a soda drinker and I find it tough to drink water as well. Two things that I’ve been able to implement to great success are…

1.) Vitamin water. It’s flavored, so it almost makes me think it isn’t water. And it’s better for you than just plain water.

2.) Water Mixers - I.E. Crystal light. These come in flavors from green tea to lemonade, and they give you a good amount of flavor while you get all the water that you need.

    Try these!

  50. Dun give up.
    I gym-newbe too. After first day i didn’t feel my hands :)

  51. I run my own TV LiftsCompany so i can get pretty busy. So what I personally do is go to the gym during lunch time for just 30 min (thats all you need) then eat a light lunch this will also help you digest and burn the calories faster. Then when you get home eat a big salad with whole wheat pasta. Very very good for you.

  52. there’s always this gastro thingy that you can undergo, but i feel uncomfortable each time i hear things about it - like chopping up your body for vanity..

  53. So how have the workouts been going? I would love to hear an update before too long because I’m trying to get it together myself.

  54. It’s always wiser to go to the gym then not going. You want to have a habit of going there so that procrastination won’t be an issue.

    Good luck

  55. I really like the way you work out here. You seem to be motivated and surely have the right attitude on losing weight. If you keep this up, you will accomplish your goals. A nice post ;) will keep reading this blog.

  56. Lizzie, I understand what you mean….. but when I get to the drinking problem I try to imagine myself a situation when you are as thirsty as possible and you need water the most….. after that I find it easy to drink my glass of water ;)

  57. Weight loss is just so hard…just eat healthy and say away from the fast foods!

  58. The most important thing in weight loss is to have motivation and dedication. Without these two things, you will get nothing. However, everything is possible if you have motivation. Try to be discipline and you’ll be fine in the next 6 hours. You may need a weight loss pill in order to help your diet plan.

  59. Its hard to stay with a goal where the results seem so far in the future. I have found though that those are often if not always the best goals to stick with because they are the most rewarding. Keep going strong!

  60. I figure the harder and faster I chew the more calories I burn.!

  61. Keep up the good work. Weight loss takes more work than weight gain!

btw: I luv the domain name!

  62. I use to feel similar to how you felt. I actually cut down on all my sugars and alcohol and now i feel fantastic. I use to go out both nights on the weekends and have a terrible hangover every monday. Whereas now i can enjoy my mondays.

Good to see your eating healthy, tuna is so good for you. Keep up the good work.

    Regards Andrew

  63. When it comes to weight loss you always have to look at things in a long-term perspective and just keep pushing. Keep up the good work, though!

  64. I went to the gym twice last week and I have not been there for over a month, so do not feel bad about you. I felt so good after going to the gym, let’s keep up with the good work together.

  65. Keep it up, I’m sure you get to your goal

  66. There’s a lot of people with weight loss goals this year. So you are not alone you can do it..the most difficult part is actually the first day after that its not as hard.

    SEO

  67. yes, really i agree with “Matt Benches” point because “no pain no gain” and also “Matt Johnson” gave the five useful tips for weight loss.

  68. Losing weight is just not easy for most people. Why? For the simple and plain reason that losing weight just takes so much effort, discipline, and perseverance.

Significant results of success don’t come overnight…and once those results come elating us, we may just lose focus and start adding weight once more…which is just plain easy.

But despite the difficulties, losing weight and staying fit can be definitely done with the proper mindset. It isn’t something which we just read or do. It has to be part of our lives.

    Just my two cents.

Anyways, thanks for the wonderful post, mate.
