Losing weight, one diet at a time; one month at a time…

Back to Losing Weight

I’ve had ample “time off” from a healthy eating plan. I’ve received lots of encouragement from fellow fat bloggers. I’ve put a good amount of time into my paintings and I’m committed to continue painting as if it’s my job. And, I see eating whatever I want, whenever I want as a very selfish way to live. So, regardless of “how I feel” - I’m now committed to make better choices of what I put in to my body. I’m also committed to get back to working out on a daily basis because, even though I may not feel like working out - I definitely feel better when I do.

I got together with my girl friend who I plannedĀ  to do the “Faithfully Fit” program with back mid-summer - and we made a plan to meet once a week to share our success, difficulties and to keep each other accountable.

Here we go again…. week one, day one. My goal is to lose 10 pounds. I’m going to actually cook meals at home again. I’m going to go to the gym at least four days a week or do some type of exercise at home on the days I cannot make it to the gym.

  1. I just an article on Lipozene and actually considered getting some to lose weight, I have no proof that this works or not, but for the research I have look at, I did notice one thing consistent most people that got a magic bullet and lost huge weight they ended up gaining it back, I will go the slow and healthy way, atleast for now.

    Good Luck

    Vic

  2. I think that’s the best idea ever - to meet with a friend. Working out, and sticking to a fitness program, is SO much easier when you have someone to talk to, someone to work out with, and someone to answer to!

  3. Are the paintings on this site done by you?
Your really good, I like them.

If I could paint that good I would paint a picture of myself (how I wanted to look when losing weight) and use that as motivation. ;o)

    But I cant paint…

  4. If the exercise is part of your daily routine e.g. a walk to the shops, it’s a lot easier to summon up the energy to do it. Exercise for its own sake is a chore.

  5. I absolutely agree. Exercise is a chore, but I decided to do it for 20 minutes a day and that’s not too bad. The hardest part is just getting to the gym. I’m going to start walking too. The weather’s been beauteous here in PA - but, that’s not going to last long. I need to take advantage of it now. I should also WALK to the gym. It’s only a one mile walk!
    Thanks for the encouragement!

  6. I’m sure you’re not the worst. I saw a picture of the outside of a gym recently. It had steps up to the entrance, and an escalator beside them. Guess which one people were using to get in?

You can also work out an exercise routine you can do at home, five days a week, maybe when you get up in the morning. Gets you pumped up for the day, and easier than making a special trip to the gym.

If you do it every single day it becomes a chore, and you’ll give it up.

  7. I tried the lemonade diet this summer.
Lost about 26 lbs in 2 weeks.
But I got 1/3 of it back after I got of the diet.

  8. That’s a common story. I think dieters need to examine the reasons they eat so much. Is the cause of their weight perhaps emotional or mental, and not physical?

If you address the problem, maybe the desire to overeat will go away.

Also, you’d have to throw out, right now, all the fattening foods in your house. Out of sight, out of mind. Like giving up cigarettes, you have to stop NOW; you can’t do it gradually.

  9. good luck with the new change. glad you realized it.

  10. Great plan - you can do it ! :)

  11. What I did to lose and it will work for everyone.

    1) Stop all junk food no exceptions
    2) Don’t buy any foods that have any unecessary sugar in them this includes molasses, honey and other sweetners
    3) Eat only whole grains its more filling so you will eat less and a whole lot more nutritious.
    4) Eat loads of vegetables and fruits.
    5) Use only low fat dairy products
    6) Apples and low fat yogurt is a great snack
    7) Exercise every day
    8) Learn Yoga Can be done anywhere no equipment needed.

  12. Dare I say it, I think a lot of overweight people might actually be depressed. In which case, telling them to ‘buck up’ won’t help.

Just do a bit every day, and try not to backslide. To change your physical appearance, look at what’s in your heart, perhaps?

  13. Work on cutting those sugars if you haven’t already

  14. good for you… i hope you keep on progressing… while focusing on your painting a little exercise may also help in achieving your goal of losing weight.

  15. before you start your diet or exercise… your heart and mind should be set for the goal you want to attain. You must have strong determination and will that will drive you to achieve your goal of losing weight.

  16. I used Lipozene and was not impressed and it actually made feel weird, so I stop using it.

  17. Good for you. I just went to the doctor for a check up today and she told me to lose some weight. Ever since I started a job that keeps me more sedentary and working long hours, I haven’t been getting much exercise. I need as much motivation as I can find.

  18. Do not forget to drink lots of water, this can really make a big difference.

  19. Those are some great idea. I agree with snel and drinking a lot of water is cruicial to loosing weight. It helped me drop 20 pounds before my grauduation dinner a few years back.

  20. Good luck!!!!All the best!

  21. Avoid junk food & cold drinks.

  22. Have a balance diet. Good Luck.

  23. Way to go girl! do not give up!!

  24. Never give up no matter what. only stop when you are done and not when you are tired or bored

  25. I think in order for someone to effectively lose weight is to have a strong determination in losing weight. Some people just stop with their program due to lack of interest or for whatever reason but only those who have strong determination to stick with their program or tries other ways to lose weight are the only one who will succeed in losing weight effectively.

  26. If you want to lose weight, many ways can help ypu achieve your goal. But it’s easier if you combine strategies like exercise, drinking a lot of water, walking etc…

Be careful about weight loss and diet pills. Only a few works and leverage your efforts. Many others are waste of money and time.

Someone mentioned Lipozene above. I personally won’t recommend it because of the credibility of the manufacturer.
