We’re spending two days at Rehoboth Beach Delaware. We’re planning on leaving tomorrow morning at 6AM and staying over night at the Brighton Suites in Rehoboth. We’re taking my daughter and her best friend. I’m not sure how this is going to fit into my new healthy eating, but it should prove to be a good test for me to be out in the “real world” and still make healthful choices.

As I sit here I’m trying to decide if a Sausage McMuffin from McDonald’s or a bagel with cream cheese would be a better choice. Neither of them are great choices – but both are easy choices for roadfood.

The Sausage McMuffin is 370 calories without the egg (I never get the egg anyway). A bagel and light cream cheese – approximately 400 calories. Not much difference between the two. I could pack a cup of my usual cereal and some fruit. That’s probably what I’ll do.

I expect that we will eat out for lunch. I can get a salad with some chicken or shrimp. Dinner will be out as well. Fresh fish is always good at the beach.

It will all be fine.
