We’re back from yet another fabulous weekend away. Again, I knew that it wasn’t going to be convenient to do Jenny while away attending a conference – so I didn’t. The weekend before when we went to Atlanta I gained 6lbs. I lost 4 of those lbs in the 4 days that we were home and before we had to go away again. Now, I just got weighed this morning and I’ve put back on those 4lbs – meaning that I didn’t gain any more weight that I gained last weekend, but I didn’t retain any of the weight loss either.

Once again, it’s Monday – I’m back to losing weight successfully – I hope. At least I’m doing what I know works to enable me to lose weight. And, as far as I know we don’t have any more trips planned until the summer. I’m going out with some old friends in a few weeks – but that’s only one night.

This weekend break was just wonderful; from the two incredible hotels we stayed at; to the food and excellent restaurants; to the amazing weather. At 6:30 Friday evening we checked in to The Club Quarters in Philadelphia. This hotel was actually different than any other hotel I’ve stayed at. The room had 16′ high ceilings (and that may be a conservative estimate); a huge window that had the look of a window from a ballroom in the 1800′s – it was just wonderful. I didn’t think the Saturday night hotel would even have a chance at being as great as the Club Quarters – but, it was. The Sofitel in Philadelphia was probably the most luxurious hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Before this Lowes – Philadelphia had been my favorite – but, I think this was even nicer. We only had a standard room, but the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom was huge, remarkably clean – just wonderful.

Friday night we ate at Suzanna Foo’s – a Chinese Fusion menu. It was great. The appetizers were definitely the best part of the meal – but, the main course was great as well.

Both days we had breakfast at the Marathon Grill. Saturday I really only had a bagel, but Sunday we split an Egg Quesadea – it was great.

Saturday lunch was at The Continental – voted by me as the best burger of 2006. It may win for 2007 too!

Saturday dinner was the only meal that wasn’t the best. It was ok, but that’s it. I was in the mood for brick oven pizza. At the recommendation from the concierge from Sofitel – we went to Pietro’s Coal Oven Pizza. I guess there’s a big difference between brick and coal.

Still, it was all good and the company was excellent from start to finish.
